John Buscema, Joe Sinnott, and others Marvel Treasury Edition #28 Story Page 27 Superman and Doctor Doom Original Art (Marvel, 1981). Superman and Doctor Doom on the same page is a rare, if not unique combination, for obvious reasons! Superman has to think fast and create a special lead armor to protect himself from Doctor Doom's Kryptonite trap on this page from the unlikely crossover, teaming the Man of Steel with Spider-Man. The event of bringing together Marvel and DC's most beloved characters requires an abundance of talent -- and this book had plenty! The incredible pencils of John Buscema were inked by a team of embellishers, including Joe Sinnott on figures, and Terry Austin, Klaus Janson, Bob McLeod, Al Milgrom, Steve Leialoha, Walt Simonson, Bob Layton, Joe Rubinstein, Bob Wiacek, and Brett Breeding on backgrounds. We are not sure which of these fantastic background inkers worked on this piece, but all of them are comics legends! Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12" x 16.25". Slight toning, discolored text and balloon paste-ups, adhesive residue staining, tape in the top margin, pinholes in the top corners, cut on top border edge, creasing, with corner and edge/handling wear. In Very Good condition
