Conan the Buccaneer

Rarely seen Barry Windsor-Smith Conan art from 1974! Created originally for the Four Ages portfolio, this piece was ultimately not used, in favor of a different piece that was used as Plate 3. This seldom-seen treasure should be highly-sought by Conan-philes. The only time it has ever been printed, that we know of, was in Barry Windsor-Smith's Opus #1, wherein he explains the piece's history. It was created in ink over blue pencil on the reverse side of Marvel Bristol board with an image area of 9" x 13". The signature in the lower right is a printed paste-up. There is some whiteout art correction in places. The board is toned, with foxing. The reverse side is rough and slightly soiled, but also bears some very loose blue pencil sketches. In Good condition.
