Wally Wood This Is the Week to Remember... "Cleopatra" Sunday Comic Strip Panel Preliminary Drawing Original Art (McNaught Syndicate, c. 1961-62). This wonderful ink and white paint on paper prelim was done as a study for an unpublished McNaught Syndicate comic strip Sunday. Wally Wood suffered perpetual headaches during these years and could not meet the demanding weekly deadlines required for this proposed historical factoid feature, but he did complete six sample Sundays including his masterpiece, "Cleopatra." The finished strips were eventually published as the Historic Ages Portfolio by Alan Barbour in 1968. This erotic Egyptian masterpiece has an overall size of 14" x 8". Aside from overall paper aging and light wear, the art is in Very Good condition. Inscribed and signed in the empty caption box area at the lower right.
